How much does Mahall cost?
Mahall has a free forever plan that covers up to 50 members with donation tracking, monthly fee (pirivu) collection, announcements and the mobile app. Paid plans unlock unlimited members and every feature: ₹6,000 for 1 year, or ₹15,000 for 3 years — which saves ₹3,000 against paying yearly. There are no per-member charges, no setup fee and no commission on donations.
Is Mahall free to use?
Yes — the free plan is free forever, not a trial, and needs no credit card. It supports up to 50 members with one admin user. Mahalls that outgrow that move to a paid plan at ₹6,000 per year or ₹15,000 for three years.
Is my mosque data secure?
Yes. All data is encrypted in transit and at rest, and every mosque is fully isolated — one mahall committee can never see another mahall’s members, donations or accounts. Access inside a mosque is controlled by roles, so a viewer cannot edit records and an accountant cannot change committee settings.
Can I use Mahall on my phone?
Yes. Mahall is a Progressive Web App, so you install it straight from the browser on Android or iPhone and use it like a native app — no app store, no download size, and it keeps working when the network drops.
What languages does Mahall support?
Mahall works in English, Malayalam (മലയാളം), Tamil (தமிழ்) and Hindi (हिन्दी). Every screen is translated, not just the menus, and each user can switch language independently from Settings — so the secretary can work in Malayalam while the treasurer works in English.
Can multiple people manage the mosque together?
Yes. A mosque can have up to 3 admins plus accountants and viewers. Each role has its own permissions, and every change is written to an activity log, so a committee can hand over from one year’s office bearers to the next without losing history.
Can I export my data out of Mahall?
Yes. You can export the full mosque database as JSON for backup at any time, and export any report as CSV for Excel. Your records belong to your mahall — there is no lock-in and no charge to take your data with you.
Is it spelled Mahall, Mahal, or Mahallu?
All three refer to the same thing — the mosque-centred community unit — and people search for the app as “Mahall app”, “Mahal app” and “Mahallu app” interchangeably. The product is spelled Mahall. In Kerala the unit is usually written mahallu (മഹല്ല്), in Tamil Nadu the equivalent body is the jamath, and across North India it is commonly written mahal. Whichever spelling you searched for, this is the same application.
How long does it take to set up Mahall for a mosque?
About two minutes to create the mosque and start adding families. Committees that already keep a member list in Excel can bulk-upload it instead of typing it in, so most mahalls are running on real data the same day they sign up.
Does Mahall work without internet?
Mahall is installable and caches the app itself, so it opens instantly and survives a dropped connection while you are using it. Recording new collections and donations does need a connection to sync to the mosque’s account — which is what keeps every committee member seeing the same numbers.
